Course Overview

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to identify, apply and follow the chain of responsibility legislation, regulations, and workplace procedures to identify, apply and track CoR legislation, regulations and workplace procedures about heavy vehicles as they apply to an individual’s job role.

Our CoR training course aims to ensure everyone in the supply chain shares equal responsibility for ensuring breaches of the HVNL do not occur.

Chain of responsibility

CoR aims to ensure everyone in the supply chain shares responsibility for ensuring breaches of the HVNL do not occur. Under CoR laws, if you are named as a party in the chain of responsibility, and you exercise (or have the capability of exercising) control or influence over any transport task, you must comply with the HVNL.

The course can be completed by anyone wanting to understand the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) as it applies to the freight forwarding & supply chain industry and gain accreditation in a nationally recognised unit of competency. All staff can complete the course at all levels as CoR regulations apply to all.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites required to undertake this course
  • A computer device and internet access
  • USI (unique student identifier) and photo identification
  • Complete a short LL&N (Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) test to ensure you are at the required minimum skill level to complete the course.

Course Duration

10-20 hours (approx.) depending on your industry experience level and current CoR knowledge.

Prerequisites

Ability to read, write, comprehend English text, and complete basic mathematical calculations to at least the Australian year 10 schooling level or equivalent.

Course Outcomes

After successful completion, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for these units. After completing this course, you will understand and appreciate your legal obligations when applying CoR in the workplace and have the confidence and skills to apply safe transport-related activities.
